5 amazing Places to Avoid for Your First Date

  1. Family Weddings/Function: This one tops the chart. Nothing can be more disastrous than asking your date to meet you at a family function. Do we even need to start discussing the reasons for it? First, the crowd itself will give you unnecessary attention not to mention several uncomfortable questions. Secondly, none of you will ever feel at ease trying to run a conversation, let alone impress each other. Finally, you may even run into situations playing hide and seek from your relatives and friends. Hardly a perfect recipe for that first date!

  2. Restaurants: While many will disagree, it is a known fact that first date in a restaurant hardly ever turns into a serious relationship. Curious onlookers, waiters that keep nagging you for your order, refills and stuff like that will put off any serious couple. Not to mention the fact that even in fine dining restaurants, the lighting and music is hardly ever right to create a perfect atmosphere for that first date.

  3. Museums/Art houses: Never a great idea to take your date to a museum or an art exhibition even if you share a passion for art. The first date is meant for free conversations, not discussions about medieval art or artifacts. Most dating couples wrongly choose these places to show off their taste or intellectual drift which can prove to be counterproductive.

  4. Sporting Events: All sporting events are noisy for obvious reasons. People come to such venues to enjoy, cheer, and scream. You may hardly find any time to get into flirting or enjoy any real sensible talk except between breaks. So unless your real motive was to watch a match and not impress your date, avoid such venues.

  5. Movie Theatres: Finally, a movie theatre is the least favorable place for an ideal dating experience. You don't want to spend those precious 2 hours staring at the screen pretending to enjoy yourself.
The first date is always very special and you want to make sure that the venue is just right. Free, frank, and uninterrupted conversation is the hallmark of a solid dating experience and the environment must facilitate that. Good luck with yours.
